There is an urgent need for Nigeria’s anti-corruption agencies to rise to the occasion and take immediate action in investigating alleged corruption cases, particularly those involving high-profile individuals and politically exposed persons.
To this end, HEDA with the support of MacArthur Foundation compiled a chronicle of some unresolved high profile corruption cases in Nigeria from 1999 – 2022. The compendium of those corruption cases revealed a staggering total amount of $825 billion that has been ignored or poorly by the anti-graft agencies and the National Assembly Ad-hoc and Joint Committees responsible for investigating allegations of corruption.
