- JOB TITLE: Programmes Manager (Good governance)
LOCATION: Ikeja, Lagos.
REPORTS TO: Programs Director
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated person to join our Good Governance Department. The Programme Manager will lead the design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of programs under the Good Governance Department. The role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, managing stakeholder relationships, and promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen participation initiatives.
The Programme Manager will ensure that all governance-related projects align with the organisation’s strategic objectives and deliver measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of project proposals, concept notes, and grant applications.
- Design governance-focused interventions that promote accountability, transparency, civic engagement, and policy reform.
- Develop annual work plans and implementation frameworks to ensure effective project management.
- Oversee the implementation of all Good Governance projects.
- Ensure activities are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Supervise programme staff, other team members and consultants.
- Coordinate field activities and stakeholder engagements.
- Constant meetings with management to clearly understand the organisation’s needs and expectations.
- Analyse and resolve project issues.
- Assist in researching and organising the organisation’s historical data used in the project development function.
- Gathering of the organisation’s research information for upcoming projects.
- Prepare concise and accurate reports for management and donors.
- Ensure proper documentation of project activities and outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, civil society organisations, media, donors, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation at meetings, conferences, and governance-related forums.
- Facilitate policy dialogues and advocacy engagements.
- Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure sound budget management.
- Ensure compliance with donor guidelines and organisational policies.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Good Governance Department.
- Identify funding opportunities and partnerships.
- Provide technical guidance on governance and public policy issues.
- Provide editorial support to the organisation’s publications and releases.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by your line manager
Qualifications and Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree will be an added advantage).
- Minimum of 3–6 years relevant experience in governance, public policy, democracy, or civil society programming.
- Proven experience in managing donor-funded projects.
- Strong proposal writing and fundraising skills.
- Experience working with government institutions and civil society actors.
- Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
