It’s a case involving one professor Enefiok Essien, the former Vice Chancellor of the university of Uyo. He was indicted for forgery and sexual assault at the High court of Calabar and the Court of Appeal upheld same.
HEDA however petitioned the Attorney General of the Federation to institute an appropriate action to prosecute Professor Enefiok Essien. The Attorney General of the Federation’s refusal to respond to our petition led to the filling of an application for judicial review in the form of an order for mandamus to compel the Attorney General of the Federation to institute an appropriate action to prosecute professor Enefiok Essien. Our motion exparte to that effect is still in court yet to be heard. The matter has been adjourned to the 10th October, 2018 for hearing of motion.
