ICPC Arraigns Ex Presidential Nominee over 182 million Naira Fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned Dr. Saadu Alanamu for alleged 182 million naira fraud last week.

Dr. Alanamu had been nominated as a member of the ICPC board by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo back in August when he was Acting President but was later dropped following unfavorable reports.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has shut down 21 universities operating illegally and fake NYSC camps across the country.

Speaking at a seminar in Kebbi State, the ICPC Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye revealed that not only did the ICPC shut down the universities; they arrested their proprietors as well and are now prosecuting them.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, are some of those indicted in a ‘Kleptocracy Tour’ led by Russian anti-corruption activist, Roman Borisovich.

Mr. Saraki, Mrs. Alison-Madueke and General Abdulsalami were discovered to have mansions and estates in London.

GIABA Pledges Support for EFCC

The Inter-Governmental Action against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) has promised to assist the EFCC and the Nigerian government to ensure that the suspension of Nigeria from Egmont Group is lifted as soon as possible.

Making the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, the GIABA Director General, Adama Coulibaly commended the EFCC’s activities and promised to ensure continued support in the agency’s efforts to rid the nation of corruption.
